Merging Wilco A380 with Overland model

I try to merge the Overland visual model with the panel of the Wilco A380.

I have used the search funciton but not found what I needed.

I have also tried to use a method which has worked for all my other planes: keep the Wilco folder, only replace the Wilco model folder by the Overland model folder and the Wilco texture folder(s) with the Overland texture folder(s). Keep the Wilco aircraft.cfg, only change contact points, lights, effects, tailhook, folding wings. I have had no problem whatsoever with that method on merging any imaginable combination (the theory is that the panel and .air file don't care what the model looks like. What the panel needs is a proper aircraft.cfg, all the more so when a functionable FMS/MCDU is involved).

Any hints?

Thanks

Chris

Visibility layer

Recently reinstalled FS9 on my rig here. When I set restricted vis, say 20-30 miles, Im getting an issue I remember from before.

If your sitting on the ground there is a clear area with obvioulsy unrestricted vis up to about 150-200' where the haze seems to get "normal".
I can see that underneath the vis layer its clear and there is a definite demarcation on surrounding trees and terrain up to that line/height. After that level the haze looks normal
meaning it is present. Screenie attached.

http://forums1.avsim.net/index.php?act=attach&type=post&id=10795

Anyone know a fix to this??? I seem to remember something but its been a LONG time since a re-install.

Thanks!

Hornit

Project Fokker

I don't know why, but I just "discovered" the freeware Project Fokker-100/70. Probably because I was more into the GA aircraft up until recently. I understand that it's only available at AvSim but, it's not. It's one of the many that have been lost in the hack. Is there anywhere else that it can be obtained from?

Thanks,
Marv

If I install this after installing UT and all kinds of city airports is this going to conflict with anything? Thanks!

Widescreen monitors

I am in the process of buying a new Windows 7 PC to replace my aging and very sick XP machine. My new machine will inevitably come with a widescreen monitor as it's impossible to get standard 4:3 monitors these days. My understanding was that most widescreen monitors are in 16:10 format. However it seems to me that most if not all the current batch are in "true widescreen" 16:9 format. I have never had a widescreen monitor and don't really understand the implications of screen resolution and format on TFT monitors - things were much simpler in the days of CRT monitors. From what I can tell, the problem with FS9 will be with 2D panels being stretched out and gauges becoming oval. Am I right in saying that VC is not affected in the same way?

I fly Aeroworx' excellent King Air, and they have produced a widescreen panel based on 1680 x 1050 resolution, and this is therefore designed for 16:10 format. Will I have problems using this if I can only get hold of a 16:9 monitor? What sort of effect would this have on the appearance of the panel? Do I ideally need to find a monitor that will run in 1680 x 1050 resolution for this panel to look its best? And do you have any suggestions for good 16:10 monitors that are still available?

Thanks for your help.
