PMDG 737 NGX: The View Forward

Recommended Posts

I always liked those brand new and shiny cockpits representing an aircraft just rolled out from the final assembly plant.PSS (marketed by Justflight now) made some really good ones, like this of a 757:http://www.justflight.com/screenPopUp.asp?...reenshotID=2607I'd like to see something like that in the NGX. We are supposed to be buying a new aircraft, aren't we ?
I am of this mindset. I understand thinking about making the aircraft look used, like I am a commercial pilot (in my dreams) and I come to work taking over an aircraft that was just used for a three hour jump from Dallas. However, me buying a new aircraft for FSX (one I have been waiting for for what seems like three years), I would like the thing to look like it just rolled off the assmebly line. That last picture is just plain gross.

Scott, that's how the plane really was - this was an active line aircraft at a major US airport. It's not like we went in there and dirtied it up artificially or something... We can't win, I'm sure if it was pristine as you say you want someone else would complain that it wasn't realistic.

I imagine all of the dirt, grime, and distressing is done in the texturing, yes? If that's the case, it shouldn't be an impossible job for someone to 'clean up' the cockpit when it's released. Easier, at least, than dirtying it up from clean textures. Even my limited PS skills might be able to take it on.Although, I must say, I do like the current look, so I'm not sure I'd want to spend the time.

Whilst I can understand people saying 'we are buying a new airliner, and we want it to look like that', I would imagine many of us are going to be flying the &@($* off this thing, so would we still want it to look like a new airliner two years from now? People are still flying the PMDG FS9 NG, and that's what, five or six years old? Ryanair replace their 737s when they get to that kind of age! Think of it that way.Al

I think it looks great and I'm looking forward to it's release.PMDG team, I'm amazed at your patience with some of these comments. I'm surprised you don't do like Level-D and just say "it'll be ready when it's ready" and leave it at that. All these people nit-picking everything would drive me up the wall. Especially after the amount of work that must be going into this project.Since you seem to be suckers for punishment though, more screenshots please :( .Jeff Calder

Ahem! Some of us have had to keep FS2002 on our (FSX) machines just to keep flying PMDG NGs!

The only thing I haven't seen is some nasty graffiti somewhere about a co-worker or airline management. Oh yeah, even the pros "tag" the cockpits sometime!

He is right. This waiting is killing me and I know everybody is waiting very, very impatiently the release.I know that you usually don't show any precise release date and understand your point, but can't you guys from PMDG give us a possible release date? No commitments, it's just for us to know how long we'll have to wait.Thanks.

I thought that's what they had said with regard to a release date :( With regard to 'nit picking', I don't think it is so much that, as more a case of people showing an interest in the product and discussing that interest, which presumably is something that PMDG would want, as evidenced by the preview screenshots that keep getting posted in this thread. If there was nobody posting in this thread or asking stuff, I bet that would worry the company more than a few questions ever will. After all, they don't have to answer any questions if they don't want to.Al

PMDG never announces the coming out date of their Addon, unfortunately.

Ok captains.. the last of the radio panels (for now). You'll see more once we set up the final layout to accomodate additional options for your PMDG 737 NGX (HGS/HUD Control!).This will give you something to chew on for the weekend... and is slightly more than a sliver :( More pics next week!
