Using John Stinstroms' Cold Lake CFB (CYOD) scenery. Flying a trusty C-17 when ATC told me which rwy to use for landing, I did not find the NAV-1/2 freq listed on the flight map, nor was the rwy even listed in the Garmin GPS Procedures page.
Manual landing was made on rwy 31R.
My question(s): Do rwy's 31l/R have ILS capabilities, if so where/how can I get the ILS freq's. With my luck it may have
something to do with a AFCD... tongue.gif
Thanks in advance!

I just checked VATCANs website, and CYOD should have an ILS for rwy 31R.

Most likely an AFCAD issue.

Do you already know how to add an ILS to a runway that doesn't have one...It's really easy with afcad. You probably already do but in case you don't...

1) Open the afcad
2) Select "Insert" and the "ILS" from the menu
3) Choose your runway then put in the ILS frequency and IDENT
4) Save the afcad
5) Put the afcad where FS9 can find it

You're done...

Though OP was using ATC, and using AFCAD to place the ILS will give the appropriate radio/indicator response but ATC won't know of its existence. If you want ATC to give an ILS approach, you need to add the approach. That's why ADE9x is probably a better method than AFCAD to add an ILS.

As fate would have it, I just downloaded Lee Swordys' AFCAD program a few hours ago.
Having never tinkered with this sort of thing, it looks as if it will be an adventure. Black Eye.gif
However, the read me file should keep me on the straight and narrow......I hope.
Appreciate both your inputs. Perhaps in a few days I may be begging for assistance Straight Face.gif

Cheers,

Hey Irish, you're welcome. Note what Scott said because I think he's right...but working with both tools is fun.

By the way, did you know that Military AI Works makes a pretty nice Cold Lake package? It's called "Export Hawks - Canada" and John's airport is included with it. I also installed the Canadian Hornets Package and the Canadian Armed Forces C-130 package, all from MAIW. Fills out the airport nicely :)

Mark,

I have many MAIW add-ons, buut somehow missed that one. Currently I only see a few F-18's sitting on the ramp(s).

Thanks for the heads up and links. Drooling.gif
