Flt3 Hoops2 for DagoRed Challenge Script Edits

Recommended Posts

I thought I'd start a new thread regarding this particular issue. It seems some challenge markers have inadvertently become "buried" in the new hi-res terrain. No fault of the great terrain; it's just that LGS designed the challenges with the stock lesser resolution hi-res terrain. JStonehouse gave some excellent tips on repairing these issues. First, here are his instructions:""""""""""""""""""""Have you tried commenting (//) out the line in the SCRIPT.TXT file that references Autopos17 for the hoop's position and replacing it with your own X, Y and Z co-ordinates? The X and Y co-ordinates are in metres from the south-west origin of the Seattle region and FLED uses the same scale and point of origin when in 'world' mode. So, you can use FLED to obtain an X and Y value for the hoop's position and then convert its current altitude into metres and increment it as required to obtain the Z value. The procedure is as follows:Insert challenge_cheat into your flt3.cfg file to enable Zoar mode in challengesStart the challenge and Ctrl-z to switch to Zoar modeFly to the hoop, get as close as you can and note the lat/long co-ordinates and heightConvert the height to metres and increment by a small amount to obtain your new Z valueOpen FLED and set the top-down view to the lat/long co-ordinatesSwitch FLED to 'world' mode (left click lat/long co-ordinates in bottom left hand corner of screen) and note the X and Y valuesClose FLED, navigate to the relevant challenge folder, open the SCRIPT.TXT fileComment (//) out the existing line within the ON STARTUP procedure, i.e. //Set position of hoop17 to marker Autopos17Add a new line underneath it, i.e. Set position of hoop17 to X Y ZClose script, restart challenge, check position and altitude of hoop and tweak X, Y and Z values as requiredWorks for me!Jonathan S. """""""""""""""""""""Ok, here are some edit's I've made to the DagoRed Hoops2 challenge script. Remember, you only need to do this if you've installed the new hi-res Seattle terrain. This also works for the stock "Hoops2" challenge; though I have not tested my edits with the stock mustang. I'm posting this here to get feed-back on the bit of editing I have done so far, to see if it's entirely impossible to complete the challenge, or if it retains it's original rating of "impossible". Bear in mind the challenge final score is based on penalties and time to complete. This only edits hoops 17, 18, and 19. I think I may need to raise 4 of the hoops approaching 17 to make it easier and perhaps 3 or 4 egressing #19; but that is the comfirmation I'm hoping for from you guys (beta testers?). I plan to edit Hoops 27, 55, 56, and 85.I've also changed the stock colors of the hoops for easy I.D. Make a copy of your original Hoops2 Script.txt and put it some where's safe. Edit your working Hoops2 Script.txt for hoops 17, 18, and 19 with: //pink Set normalColor of hoop17 to 247 247 247 Set hitColor of hoop17 to 35 25 25 Set radius of hoop17 to 50.0 Set depth of hoop17 to 0.1 Set position of hoop17 to marker Autopos17 Set orientation of hoop17 to marker AutoOrien17 Do Initialize of hoop17 //red Set normalColor of hoop18 to 231 24 33 Set hitColor of hoop18 to 35 25 25 Set radius of hoop18 to 50.0 Set depth of hoop18 to 0.1 //Set position of hoop18 to marker Autopos18 //Set position of hoop18 to 123115 72067 1491 Set position of hoop18 to 123319 71791 1528 Set orientation of hoop18 to marker AutoOrien18 Do Initialize of hoop18 //baby blue Set normalColor of hoop19 to 0 135 254 Set hitColor of hoop19 to 35 25 25 Set radius of hoop19 to 50.0 Set depth of hoop19 to 0.1 //Set position of hoop19 to marker Autopos19 Set position of hoop19 to 123460 71969 1546 Set orientation of hoop19 to marker AutoOrien19 Do Initialize of hoop19

Great!I'll fix my version of the challenges as soon as I get time. One thing, the challenge is rated as "impossible". Since that means I'll have to defy the laws of physics to succeed I'd rather have a challenge that's barely "possible" if I do everything right. How about making it marginally possible?Hans Petter

Hi folks,At the risk of 'blowing my own trumpet', the P51 challenge is possible to complete. I managed to score 264 with no penalties with the default version a couple of years back.I would recommend trying it with no alcohol intake though. :( Regards........ Stuart

I ran the stock P51D through the course with the script changes and was able to complete it with no penalties. My time was abysmal though.- 299 w/ no penalties. Did a comparison flt with stock terrain and stock 'stang and got 260 w/ 1 penalty (hoop2 of all things

Hi Jim,Nice one!I will have to fire her up for another crack at the course.Jimb obviously doesn't stand for Jim Beam, because you must have been stone cold sober to rack up that score. :( Stuart
