FSX: changing to outside view turns on engine sound in VC?

For some strange reason when I use S to switch views to the exterior view, when I come back into the VC, I hear the sound of the engines running. They go away when I switch views again outside but come back when I go to the VC again... whats going on here? I have a soundblaster pci-express card, forgot the name of it
