64 Bit Xp

I just got my hands on the Maddog, and I was looking into purchasing FS2Crew for it and I saw in fine print that XP 64 does not support a component required to run the new voice commands.Is this infact that case, that XP 64 cannot run the new FS2Crew, and will this mean I will not be able to buy any future FS2Crew products like the JS41 and the 737 NGX?

Hey ScottI was one who did not read the fine print before purchasing fs2crew for the maddog. However, I was able to download the Speechsdk51.exe for Xp32bit as per the instructions and installed it anyways into Xp64. Once I installed it, FS2Crew voice recognition worked. I was able to train my voice by using the speech options found in the control panel, x86 folder (a tip I learned from another forum member).I am now using fs2crew for the maddog with Xp64 bit without any problems and loving it. Since this Speechsdk is not supported in Xp64bit by Microsoft, and FS2crew is currently not supported with Xp64, I would suggest proceeding at your own risk. I just wanted to let you know that some of us were successful getting it to work.Good luckRick Verhallen

Thank you Rick for your story. I was hoping for someone to post exactly what you did, that they got it to work on x64. I find flying the Maddog all by myself to be very overwhelming, I love FS2Crew on my Level D 767 and PMDG 747, and once I saw vidoe of the voice command in action, I really want to give it a try.

How to get FS2Crew 2010 Voice Commander to work on Microsoft Windows XP x64 Edition:(I assume you are using Service Pack 2)Download MS SAPI from this link:http://download.microsoft.com/download/B/4...SpeechSDK51.exeInstall as normal. You should recieve no error messages.Go to your Control Panel.Click on x86 Control Panel ItemClick on Speech, and train your profile. Hey guys. Using XP64bit with SP2 i downloaded and installed the file in the link above, i didn't get any error messages during the install so all seem to have went well. however i'm not seeing the Speech icon in neither the control panel or the X86 control panel icons folder. please help.

I don't have XP 64 so I can't comment directly, but did you do a search using the term "speech"?Cheers,

Yea i did a search and found some files with the name "speech" in them related to the SDK, but i didn't find the Speech icon like what used to be in my 32bit version of XP. I should note that i don't have Office installed, could that be the possible reason?
